Policy Categories


Compliance

Any student who fails to comply with the policies, rules, and regulations outlined in these policies will be subject to disciplinary action and possible termination. Special policies regarding tuition, attendance, and other areas of concern contained in this documentation may be established for programs which operate outside the usual requirements for adult preparatory classes.

Among those classes which may have such requirements are: Surgical Technology, Practical Nursing, Electrical Technician, and Commercial Driving. Copies of compliance requirements will be available to students enrolled in those classes during the first week of class.

  • Policy 1101: Attendance: Adult Students

    All postsecondary students exceeding the maximum number of allowable absences will be dismissed from their respective programs. For programs in which the maximum allowable days (hours) absent are fifteen (15), students will receive a warning letter upon the accumulation of five (5) absences and again at ten (10) days absent.     James Rumsey Technical Institute’s attendance policy follows the West Virginia State and Berkeley County Schools’ attendance policies and procedures.     Tardies/Early Sign-Outs Tardiness will be documented.
