Whether it’s water, gas, or chemicals, plumbers keep it flowing.

This course introduces the student to the knowledge base and technical skills of the Plumbing industry.

Plumbing begins with instruction in Basic Safety; Introduction to Construction Math; Introduction to Hand Tools; Introduction to Power Tools; Introduction to Construction Drawings; Basic Rigging; Basic Communication Skills; Basic Employability Skills; and Introduction to Materials Handling.

Students will then begin developing skill sets in the fundamentals of Plumbing such as Introduction to the Plumbing Profession and Plumbing Safety.

What You Will Do in the Class

Students will learn and apply industry safety practices, identify and use plumbing tools and materials, read blueprints, perform measurements and layout, and learn installation and maintain basic water supply and drain, waste, and vent systems. Through hands-on shop experiences and a simulated workplace environment, students will develop technical competencies, problem-solving skills, and professional employability behaviors while exploring career pathways, apprenticeship opportunities, and training in the plumbing trade.
