JRTI Scholarship Application

James Rumsey Technical Institute offers many different scholarships. Each scholarship has specific criteria for eligibility. Below you will find a list of scholarships and guidelines which may be available to you, as well as the guidelines for eligibility. It is your responsibility to contact our school counselor to receive an application or additional information and/or requirements for the scholarships listed below.

It is the policy of James Rumsey Technical Institute to maintain and promote equal employment and education opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, age (except when sex or age is a bona fide qualification), religion, handicap, national origin, or other non-merit.

You may also use scholarship search engines such as www.fastweb.com or www.finaid.org to research other outside possible scholarships.

  1. Completely fill out all required sections of the application and submit any required information with the scholarship.
  2. All applicants must have completed a financial aid form (FAFSA-PELL).
  3. All scholarship applicants must have submitted an application for admission to a program.
  4. All scholarship applications are to be returned to the JRTI guidance counselor by the required date.
  5. All applicants must have a high school diploma or a West Virginia-accepted equivalency.
  6. All applicants must have a 2.5 GPA.
  7. All applicants must have three (3) references (non-relative). These references must be mailed directly to James Rumsey Technical Institute by the person completing the reference, not the student.
  8. All scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, books, lab fees, and/or required supply lists.

  • James Rumsey Annual Scholarship [Graduating high school senior] April 15
  • JRTI NTHS Scholarship [National Technical Honor Society member] April 15
  • Professional Business Women’s Association [Female student – Typed, double-spaced 500-word essay required about a person you admire and how they affected your career/education choice.] April 15
  • Automotive Technology [Enrolling in Automotive Technology] April 15
  • Charles Town Rotary [Jefferson County residents only] April 15
  • Mt. Clifton Homemakers [Single mother living in Hedgesville] April 15
  • North American Millwright Scholarship [Current JRTI student returning as an adult for HVAC/R, Electrical Technician or Automated Manufacturing Technology] April 15
  • Golden Eagle Scholarship [Students who have attended Hedgesville High School] April 15

After you submit your scholarship application, please send this link to three people who are willing to be references for you.
