Sunbelt Rentals Trains Electrical Students on Lift Operation and Safety

Electrical students working with a scissor lift.

On Wednesday October 21st, Justin Smith and Joe Roth from Sunbelt Rentals visited JRTI’s Electrical Technician program. They worked with instructor, Denton Stotler, to provide both his AM and PM students with fall protection orientation and MEWP 3A scissor lift familiarization.

With equipment provided by Sunbelt Rentals, students gained valuable insights of workplace safety practices and equipment they will encounter as they begin their careers in the electrical trade. With the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting approximately 72,700 electrician job openings annually over the next decade, investing in the next generation of skilled tradespeople has never been more important than it is today.

Justin states, “At Sunbelt Rentals, we recognize that supporting the skilled trades goes beyond providing equipment. It means investing in education, promoting a strong safety culture, and helping prepare the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. The future of our industry depends on the people we invest in today.”

JRTI’s ability to prepare students for careers is greatly enhanced when companies like Sunbelt Rentals are able to provide real-life hands-on learning experiences like this training. Thank you to Justin and Joe for sharing their time and expertise and to Ben Jakoby for coordinating the equipment for this event. Thank you to Sunbelt Rentals for supporting our Electrical Technician program.
