JRTI’s HVAC/R (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration)

Do you have what it takes to become a HVAC/R technician? Our HVAC/R program will get you trained in this very high-in-demand career.  Students that complete the two-year program can take the EPA 608 Universal Certification Exam.  Students are eligible for OSHA 10 training.

What You Will Do in the Class

Learn the theory of how the refrigeration cycle works.  Wire electrical boards.  Install a heat pump and connect line set, wiring, and ductwork.  Use a pressure temperature chart.

Skills You Will Learn

Electrical troubleshooting, soldering, brazing, fabricating ductwork, proper refrigerant recovery, charging and evacuation techniques, customer relations and soft skills

Tools You Will Use

Hand tools, air-acetylene, oxyacetylene, vacuum pump, recovery machine, scales, refrigerant gauge manifold, Electrical multimeter, sheet metal shear and brake.
