Class of 2016I completed the electrical technician adult program in 2016 and was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Upon graduation I began working in the residential and commercial electrical field in the local area. Within a few years I was able to transition into industrial maintenance in online retail fulfillment centers. I started as a mechanic maintaining conveyors, sorters, boilers, etc. By 2018 I had the opportunity to go to a very well known online retailer where I was able to progress from a mechanical technician into automation/controls, and then maintenance management. Most recently I've started a role with a new electronics recycling company where i am establishing and managing the global maintenance program. By the time I was married in the end of 2016 I was working two jobs (one day shift and one night shift) making approximately $44,000 a year. I've seen significant career advances and am now earning >$180,000 a year. My experience has been that my education at JRTI laid a solid technical foundation that allowed me to learn the roles that I was placed in. I would not have been able to have this career without first starting at James Rumsey.

Class of 2023This class was very informational and we were taught by a great teacher. I feel very prepared to start working. My only complaint is we didn’t have enough class hours. The class is only Monday-Thursday but coming to school on Fridays would definitely be more helpful for us learning.

Class of 2023Mrs. Nelson is absolutely the best teacher for this program. I learned so much and was able to go to work no problem after the program. Her teaching style is the best. the class hours don’t deserve to be cut. This class actually matters in the real world.
