JRTI Students Create Presentation for Children’s Museum

Children's Museum Project

Students in the Multimedia Publishing and Early Childhood Education programs created a video presentation with accompanying activities for the For the Kids by George Children’s Museum. On Monday, May 12th, the students presented their work to Aubrey Ervin, Executive Director of the museum.

Students created a sixteen minute video hosted by an animated version of our school’s namesake, inventor James Rumsey. The video teaches viewers about how workers in our community use their various skills to solve problems for people. While watching the video, teachers will be able to lead the children through different interactive activities that reinforce the video’s content. The Early Childhood Education students also put together pre-trip and post-trip lesson plans tied to state standards that the teachers can use to prepare for the field trip.

For the Kids By George Children’s Museum is in the Martinsburg train station and provides hands-on learning activities for pre-K and elementary school children. They host school field trips and are open to the public. See their website for hours.
